Airfree is a company that makes air purifiers that are maintenance free, worry free, and filter free.

That might sound too good to be true, but it's not.

My daughter suffers from indoor allergies such as dust and dust mites, as well as food allergies. Her doctor told us she really needed to have an air purifier, a really good one.

I wasn't sure how we were going to do that, since really good air purifiers come with a really high price tag.

I did my research and I found that the Airfree air purifiers reduce mold, dust mite allergens, pollens, pet danders, bacteria, viruses, among other indoor pollutants.

Someone told me that I should ask the company and see if they would donate one for me to try for Sophie. I decided to ask. And they said yes. However, they said that the retailers are the ones that donate products, but they were willing to make a special exception.

And I am very thankful that they did.

After about 4-8 weeks, we began to notice a difference. Her symptoms have improved. I would highly recommend this. It makes no noise, and it has a nice blue light (that you can dim).

How does it work?
Airfree uses heat instead of UV light or ozone. Airflow is achieved through air convection generated by their patented Thermodynamic Sterilizing System that sterilizes the air at high temperatures.

This is a great product to use if you have issues with mold and hate constantly buying expensive HEPA filters for other air cleaners. The Airfree air purifier just needs to be plugged in. No upkeep and no filter changing. It even seems to keep my room less dusty, always a perk. Some people will probably still need a HEPA filter air cleaner with this product, but I don't. My asthma gets good control by using this product if there isn't a heavy influx of mold through an HVAC.

I have been researching Air Cleaners for about a year and was set on getting an IQair cleaner when I saw a review on the AirFree Onix 3000 Air Purifier. I was intrigued that the Airfree was using new technology that used heat to clean the air and required no filters so my annual costs would be a lot less than the IQair's. Since I wanted to put this in my bedroom the Airfree being completely quiet while the IQair was 48db at it's lowest setting was an important factor in the airfree's favor also. The Airfree is also small in size which made my wife happy as she was not crazy about putting something like the IQair that reminded her of a small furnace or refrigerator in her bedroom. Maybe they should make these things in wood tones like Cherry wood, well anyway I received the AirFree Onix 3000 Air Purifier from Sylvane a couple of days ago and plugged it in right away. Now I wait to see if the airfree will do the trick. The only way I'll be able to tell if it's doing the job (since there are no filters I can take out and look at) is if my sinuses clear up, which may take a week to as much as a month according to the instructions. My wife likes the soft blue light shining out the top as it gives us a nice nightlight. Will it work as well as the IQair probably not but if it does a reasonable job it will be worth it considering all the advantages I listed above.

My wife and I are very happy with our purchase so far. I also would like to thank Sylvane for providing lots of info on their website and making my purchase and delivery easy and problem free :).

Our daughter has asthma, caused by a dust mite allergy. From the age of 1 year she has been treating her asthma with a cortisone inhaler and antihistamines. At one point, we had to spend a few weeks in a clinic for respiratory treatment, but still she had a lot of problems, like waking up early in the morning because she had to cough or she couldn't breath properly etc. She often had bronchitis, therefore couldn't go to school, doctor visits kept us very busy and she had to go through all kind of tests... I love my Airfrees. I have one in each bedroom and one in the kitchen and hope to get at least one or two more for the living room and basement area.

We cleaned our kitchen ourselves with the help of Airfree and the post test came back with no fungi detected. Even remediators tell you if they remediate the spore count will go down but the post test will more than likely still show some spores as it can't be eliminated completely. I guess they haven't heard about Airfree. It certainly lives up to its reputation and there definitely are no mold spores in this kitchen. I even did a couple of swab tests on my own to double check and they also came back completely clean.

In addition, my husband used to snore terribly at night and since Airfree has been in the bedroom I noticed I am sleeping better as his snoring has gotten less and less and now has actually stopped. Whatever was causing the stuffy nose which led to the snoring has been eliminated. I presume whatever allergen was causing this was wiped out by Airfree.

Everyone should have at least one in their home.

After several years of worsening pain, I made the decision to have my hips replaced. This required two separate operations and two separate hospitalizations.

I live in a one-bedroom condo in an older building on Miami Beach, with my girlfriend. Since moving there we have always experienced a large amount of dust and other particles circulating around the condo.

We currently have the Air Free in our living-room where our 10 Week old English Bulldog puppy hangs out in. Let me tell you the Air Free has made a huge difference. No smell and no more dust. The best part about the Air Free is that its completely silent.

This device works on mold in the air. I could tell the pretty impressive effect within about twenty four hours. This version is more powerful than another one, the P100, that I have tried and that one also worked very well. This one is the most powerful they have right now and the column of warm air is slightly more intense than on the lower powered one. This one produces enough heated convection to notice if you put your hand about four inches above it. It still isn't what I would call hot though or even very warm. The blue light is still a good warning not to drape something over it which of course you're not supposed to do! The main thing is how long it will last as it is meant to run continuously. So far after a month there are no problems. This took care of the basement mold allergy problem in a 12 by 20 foot room. There was nothing to assemble. It comes out of the box and you plug it in where nothing can block the top vent and that's it. One of the most useful things I've bought in a while.

Having recently been diagnosed with asthma I was anxious to find a good air purifier for my edroom. I opted for the Airfree Onix 3000 because it was not only rated highly but, amazingly, required no maintenance. Within a matter of hours after plugging it in I noticed that the air smelled a lot fresher and the first morning after having the purifier in my room I woke up with almost no congestion in my nose (a first!)so it must be doing a good job of getting rid of the allergens. The best part is that because I am a light sleeper it's wonderful to have a purifier that is totally silent. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the anti-stress light but it's kind of a pretty so I may just leave it on. It's too early to comment on this product's longevity but I am extremely happy with it so far. So happy, in fact, that I am ordering 2 more for other parts of our house.

So far, so good

I'm not quite sure how this is working as I got it for my office at work. I have asthma and allergies and my office is seeming like a very "sick" place (mold was found and taken care of but I am suspicious of it growing back). Improves quality of sleep.

I put one of these in my bedroom. Before installing it, I tossed and turned a lot at night and rarely dreamed. Now I sleep deeper and dream more often. I suspect my allergies were interfering with my sleep before. (I am primarily allergic to cats and dust mites, but also have a mild mold allergy.) The blue light on top does not interfere with my sleep, but sometimes I turn it off anyway. There is a small blue LED on the side that does not turn off, which I found annoying until I rotated the unit so that the LED does not shine in my eyes when I'm trying to sleep. The unit does not make any noise (the air is moved by heating, not by a fan).

Before buying this, I needed 7-8 hours of sleep per night to function well during the day. Now I feel the same on only 6-7 hours of sleep.

The product literature claims this can help remove odors from the air. It may reduce the pungency of odors, but it does not remove them completely in my experience.

The wife's asthma attacks are much improved and my eyes aren't swollen shut in the morning anymore from allergies/dust mites/mold or whatever the heck it was that was bothering me (I am highly allergic). I was able to tell with my eyes within the first couple days, though per the literature it can take a couple weeks to get the entire room well sterilized.

"My house has mold problems. Hopefully, they have been dealt with (again!) but I've had severe dizziness and sinus problems for 5 months which even antibiotics wouldn't stop. I have tried many brands of air cleaners/sterilizers, none of which alleviated my symptoms. 2 Germ Guardians seemed to help but not enough and I don't like their fan noise. I bought the Onix 3000 for my bedroom, expecting to wait a week for relief. Relief started within hours. By morning, my sinus trouble had eased (without meds) and my dizziness was almost gone. By day 3, all symptoms were gone as long as I stayed mostly in my room. Since this worked so quickly, I ordered 2 Onix 1000 units, planning to place them in bedrooms and move the Onix 3000 to a larger living area. I received them yesterday but since I have only been symptom-free for just over 1 week, I hesitate to make the change. I plugged the smaller units in other areas, will see how well they work, then decide which size units to buy for my basement. Every winter I have struggled with sinus trouble and its many side effects. It is wonderful to wake up refreshed and ready to greet the day instead of hoping to be able to drag through it in a drug-induced stupor. Thanks, Onix!"

My son was a "croupy baby" meaning he got the croup and then would get a croupy-type cough every time he got sick. "I get sick every winter from Dec-March--same cough that keeps me up all night, post nasal drip, etc. My doctor, when I told her of this pattern, had me tested for winter allergies and it turns out I"m allergic to virtually any allergen that hangs out in the winter, most of all mold and dust. When I declined allergy shots, she suggested an air sterilizer so I bought one of these. This is the first winter in over 15 years I haven't gotten sick. No post nasal drip. No coughs. No illnesses period. I can only assume the sterilizer is the cause of this miracle as I changed nothing else in my home or routine. It's so amazing not to have to be miserable for 3-4 months straight this winter (and I'm sure my boyfriend is happy I'm not coughing all night long). It's totally silent, completely maintenance free and the little blue light makes a nice night light. The only drawback is when guests ask me what's up with R2D2 in the bathroom but it's a small price to pay."

"I bought the P1000 about 3 years ago, in 2007, for my girlfriend who suffers from allergies and asthma, I also suffer from asthma. After a few weeks of use the effect was amazing, with the door shut all the time the room was a safe haven with no reactions at all and no restricted breathing. Quality silent mold removal

"I have never taken the time to note the quality of a product but recently I am finding the fact that other people do so is very helpful to me, so here goes. I have rented a Hamptons home for two summers and a winter and this winter I had a very unpleasant surprise, roof leaks of various natures (which were all immediately repaired) and a terrible stench resulting from mold which is clearly through all the walls. I had a friend with this issue in a home out here and it cost them north of 50k to clean and repair their 11,000 square foot residence so I wasnt very surprised when my landlord wasnt willing to do the same. I am a health nut and I am not particularly sensitive to smells so I was getting somewhat frantic with respect to the problem which was causing me to feel like I had the flu round the clock, even my dogs were coughing. Through research I found allergybuyersclub on the web. Their products were highly recommended per other filtration websites and quite frankly I havent been able to find another silent mold elimination solution anywhere. I started with two of their IQ Air Health Pro's. The fan noise is driving me crazy and while they work well, the lower speed which I can tolerate from a noise standpoint isnt sufficiently effective. I then ordered one Onix 3000 which is blessedly silent and yes as another review noted there is a slight metallic smell most likely caused by the incineration of the particles. After the stench of a serious mold issue I found this a mild scent very welcome. I have found that with the serious nature of my problem the 3000 unit is only able to cover about 300 square feet (most likely due to my 20+ foot ceilings in the primary living areas. However in a small bedroom it was extraordinarily effective (my mother who is extremely sensitive to smell and particularly to the smell of mold or mildew recently visited and reported that her room where I tested this was the only room in the house where she was completely comfortable). So, in short if you consider the cost of remediation and purchase 10 or so of these instead, in my opinion its a very sound maintenance free investment. I have just placed an order for my next round and I hope to purchase enough of them to end my misery shortly."

A Godsend!

"I can't believe how great this product is. My son has had a chronic cough his whole 3.5 years of life. We've been to many doctors, gone on many diets to test for allergic food reactions, changed homes to improve air quality, but it was only 'the blue spaceship' that has actually healed his lungs! I parked it by his bed the first night we had it and he hasn't coughed once since! It's been nearly 4 months now. Before he would have non-coughing downtime of approximately 1-2 weeks and then the coughing would come back. He's been so healthy! Not a case of the cold or flu since! "Bought one about months ago. Over the past winter it was bitterly cold so my steam heat was on constantly. Warm humid air without any fresh air probably promoted the growth of allergens. these triggered my asthma terribly. I was using inhalers 6 times a day. At night I constantly woke up and had fitful sleep. Since getting the airfree, i feel refreshed in the morning. Barely use my inhaler. The air smells cleaner. I would totally recommend this to any asthma allergy sufferers out there. Only negative is that one of the leds lights has gone out but i don't think it affects the performance at all."

"We moved into a new house and the builder recommended that we get a dehumidifier for the basement to protect ourselves against mold- and our neighbors were complaining bitterly that their stuff was getting covered with mold.

"I live in New England which is notorious for damp moldy basements especially during the summer. I have had two AirFree air sterilizers in my basement for the last two years and they really have prevented mold from growing. "Don't want to review the product so much ( I gave it three stars all around because I am required to fill in something in order to get my comment accepted) as to report that, right out of the box, without turning it on, there was an odor from the ceramic core area. Then, after I set it up, and a few hours elapsed, the odor was very pronounced, chemical in nature and not too pleasant. Plus, the air seemed drier. It's in my bedroom and I wonder at the advisability of sleeping there and breathing in whatever is being emitted. Perhaps, after a break-in period the smell will abate. Does anyone at ABC have any knowledge of or experienced any reports about this?"

A life-saver.

I received my air purifier when I most needed it and it has been the most important purchase that I have had in a long time. I had been sick with allergies for several weeks and could not seem to get any better until I got the air purifier. A Real Life-saver.

I had been sick for two weeks--unable to sleep because of the constant coughing. I had to sit straight up in a chair or stand straight up to stop the cough. The first night I had my

Peace-of-Mind Great Product.

Great Product!

In our finished basement we found some mold after getting flooded several times. We were a little nervous about our kids running around so we bought this purifier in hopes of clearing the spores, etc. from the air. It is really stylish and quiet -- a definite asset. It makes us feel better just knowing that we have a quality product working for our family.

As a Physician specialising in allergy and environmental medicine, I am very impressed with the Airfree Air Steriliser for the purpose of removing molds and their spores from the air we breathe. These sterilisers work by using localised heat to sterilise the indoor air and encourage the circulation of cleaned air throughout the room. It does not require filters. This last point is important as all air filtration systems eventually block up with dust and mold, and this has the long-term effect of redistributing the molds throughout the room and is counterproductive. As a sufferer from an allergy to mold, I am very impressed with this machine as a way of keeping the air free of allergens. As a result of using an Airfree Steriliser in my bedroom for the last three months, I no longer wake up with depression and cold shakes from the mold spores that one would otherwise breath during the night. This is a vast improvement. (I understand that it takes about 6 weeks for the Airfree to have its full effect, presumably because it has to sterilise the air in the room over a period of time. In this connection one should not move it from room to room, it is better left static in one place where it will work its magic.)

I also installed an Airfree in my kitchen, which I consider to be a natural mold trap because of the steam from cooking and various vegetable items which are kept in the environment.

I have noticed that since the Airfree was installed, my basil plants now survive instead of dying instantly, and that they are not afflicted with mold, either on the earth or on their leaves. They even survive having bits taken off in the usual way and are thriving. Also my onions don’t go moldy.

Overall I feel the Airfree has contributed greatly to the reduction in the mold count in parts of my house (in which there was previously a problem due to the damp British climate.) It has also contributed to an increase in my mental and physical energy and stamina. I can wholeheartedly recommend this machine for anybody with a serious allergy to mold and other airborne allergens. Also I recommend it to my patients with this problem.

J’ai 72 ans et je souffre d’une allergie qui à pour conséquence de m’irriter en permanence la gorge ce qui m’oblige a un « raclement » fréquent peu confortable pour moi et pas très agréable pour mon entourage.

L’origine de cette allergie n’a jamais été établie avec précision, mais il s’agit vraissemblablement de poussiéres ou de moisissures présentent dans ma maison.

Etant fumeuse moi même, la fumée ne me dérange pas, mais je n’ai jamais pu m’habituer aux odeurs de tabac froid le matin. De plus les locaux étant anciens et mal ventilés il faut y rajouter des odeurs de renfermé.

Hi, Airfree,

Yes, I can believe it. My own story is a great reference for the product. We have an old summer cabin in Norway, just next to a huge pine forest mountain, and in front of a fjord. Our yard is filled with as much moss as grass. The cabin was built with inexpensive materials in 1951, but has a solid foundation. I have been very sick inside for some years, and had to stop going there. This caused a huge problem for our family, as it is the location where every summer is supposed to be spent. I could only go once the pollen season was over and if the weather got warm enough to leave all windows open all the time.

I also had allergy tests in the meantime, and was put on medicines I could not tolerate. I am in great shape with low blood pressure, and the allergy meds and inhaler made me too sleepy and foggy-brained to work or think straight. The tests showed I was allergic to mice, molds, and pine. Our cabin is surrounded by mice, molds and pine.

The Airfree we got (the small one) was plugged in just one day when I noticed a difference. Two weeks later, we could close every window completely. I was breathing perfectly from about day 2-3. We could even leave it on with all the windows open in the summer, and the machine was never truely affected. I simply kept the place dusted and vacuumed, as usual, and the machine had a place of prominence in the central living room-dining room combination. This past Fall, a time when I could never stay at the cabin before, we spent every weekend there, even when windows had to be closed completely on cold days. In fact, this machine completely changed my indoor health within two weeks, and never quit working, as the weather got worse - colder and more rainy outdoors. This means we do not need to tear down the old cabin and re-build a new one of the very same size on its place (the only Norwegian -legal solution). This means you saved our cabin. . . for us to use, as it was meant to be! It is now a healthy cabin, and I'm a healthy person in it! It's hard to tell you how much this means to us, as a couple and as a family.

I want to buy another one, so we can leave one plugged in at the cabin in the winter-time, to reduce moisture in the air, and cancel the effect of the sneaky mice that make their way into the corner cupboards. As for now, I have brought it to our home, second floor, where the bedroom is. We will use this winter at night it to keep the smoke down. Norwegians sleep with open windows. In winter, neighbors are always having fires in their fireplaces in the evening. The air can be quite smokey, and I am allergic to all particle matter in the air, it seems.

So, let's plan to get another Airfree, but perhaps in January when we can afford to consider it. I thought I would call the Norway contact then, and ask for a second one to be sent.
